This time Xiaomi has launched its first smartwatch under the brand name Mi called the Mi Watch. It again has the Apple Watch ‘inspired’ design with square dial and rotating crown but is actually more than that.

Of course it comes at a price half than its Apple counterpart as Xiaomi products are known for that. But unlike the cheap clones it has very nice features and is a great choice for people who want a high-end smartwatch lookalike but don’t want to compromise on quality and features.

Mi Watch is accused of having copied its design from Apple Watch and it is not completely wrong. If you look it from a distance you will certainly confuse it with the Apple watch because of its square casing with rounded corners and thin straps.

Final Verdict

Although Mi Watch is the costliest Apple Watch look alike but still lot more cheaper than it, and the price seems reasonable considering the quality and features it offers.

It lacks some features like ECG functionality but features like blood oxygen tracking compensate for it considering the price tag.

The official press renders reveals some minor but solid improvements over Watch GT. Watch GT 2 will come in two variants, an all black model with sporty band and a classic variant with tan leather straps and black-silver dial. As it is a Wear OS smartwatch it comes with features like Google Assistant, activity tracking by Google Fit, NFC payments with Google Pay and other fancy stuff. Other features include a heart rate monitor, in-built GPS and accelerometer.

The Movado Connect 2.0 smartwatches start at $495 while Apple Watch Series 5 starts at $399. It is already available for pre-order online and will be available for sell in stores in October.

There will be two models available for Watch GT 2, a 46mm model with 1.39-inch display and a smaller 42mm model with 1.2-inch display. The watch comes with 2GB of storage which can store 500 mp3 files and can take Bluetooth calls up to 150 meters away from your phone to let you untether from your phone. All thanks to the speaker and microphone combo that Huawei has added to this watch.

Watch GT 2 has got a highly impressive battery life which is better than its predecessor. The larger version can last up to two weeks with heart rate monitoring and notifications on and 30 hours of GPS tracking while the smaller version offers one week battery life and 15 hours of GPS tracking.  Both these versions are very different in design too. As far as the price is concerned, the 46mm model of Watch GT 2 costs $275 and the 42mm model will cost you $250. They are very reasonably priced like Watch GT and will be available from October.

The design of Series 5 is exactly same as its previous model with 10.7mm thickness and 40mm x 34mm height and width specs for smaller version and 44mm x 38mm for bigger version. The price also remains in-line with last generation, the 40mm GPS model will cost around $399 and for 44mm model you have to pay $429.For cellular models you have to spend $100 extra.

If you choose a premium case finish (silver, space gray and gold) rather than standard aluminum the price will increase further. Apple is bringing titanium case finish for the first time and also bringing back ceramic finish which was removed from Series 4, along with stainless steel casing upgrades.

Series 5 Watch will be powered by all new WatchOS 6 to support new features. When not in use the watch screen will go on a dimmed mode with time, chosen watch face with few complications. You can still keep watch display like previous models on Series 5 which lights up only when tapped or wrist was raised. The new low-temperature polysilicon and oxide display (LTPO), the ultra-low power display driver and an ambient light sensor enables the Series 5 Watch to know when to illuminate based on wearer’s wrist position.

Apple has included a built-in compass in this and upgraded the Emergency SOS application on cellular models. It can now call services internationally and will direct you to appropriate emergency response team. There is also a new on-watch App store, a selection of apps and women’s health features. The health and fitness features are like the Series 4 smartwatch.

Apple will also continue collaborations with Nike (for Apple Watch Nike+ Edition) and Hermes with a number of faces and bespoke bands again available. To make way for Series 5, Apple has decided to completely call off Series 4.

The 42mm GTR will come in a standard variant with Black, Pink and White color option and a special variant with white leather strap. The 47mm GTR has aluminum alloy and stainless steel versions with brown leather straps and a titanium version with fluoro rubber strap. Along with the there is a limited edition Iron Man variant too with 47mm casing.

The 42mm boasts 1.2-inch display with 390 x 390 pixel resolution while the later has 1.39 inch display with 454 x 454 pixel resolution.
