The Chinese giant extends its family every year and this year too it will launch its next-generation Smartphones, smartwatches, and smart bands. In the last article, we have covered the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone in 2020. Here we have compiled a list of all the rumored wearables for Xiaomi and we will update the list with official information soon.

1# Amazfit BIP 2

The Amazfit BIP smartwatch was a big hit when it was launched and still, there are many fans of it around the globe. It is a good value for money smartwatch with lots of functions, cool design, and a price tag of just $99.99. Many of its fans are waiting for its successor Amazfit Bip 2 and now the wait is going to get over very soon as Xiaomi is all set to launch it within a month or two.

According to the latest rumors, BIP 2 has almost the same design as BIP but has got IP68 water-resistance up to 50m which is a great upgrade. It also supports NFC pay now and has added new sports and fitness functions. Amazfit BIP 2 comes with an excellent battery with 30 days standby time just like BIP. Amazfit BIP 2 has got some bright and cool colors this time and we expect it to be priced reasonably just like its predecessor.

2# Xiaomi Mi Band 6

Xiaomi’s Mi Band series is quite popular for affordable fitness bands. Currently, this lineup has three smart bands Mi Band 3 , Mi Band 4, and Mi Band 5, while the fourth-generation Mi Band 6 is around the corner. Xiaomi has not said anything officially about it but it is tipped that it has got SIG certification and there are many rumors about its specs also some images are leaked online too. It is said to come in two variants one with NFC support and another non-NFC standard version. It will now support Bluetooth 5.0 for better connectivity over multiple devices.

This upcoming smart band is tipped to come with an “Improved Heart-rate Monitor” and a PPG monitor to detect blood volume in the micro-vascular bed of tissue. Mi Band 6 will also be backed by a big 135mAh battery compared to the 110mAh battery of Mi Band 5. There is a big upgrade in the design and display too. Mi Band 6 will boast a colored display unlike the monochrome OLED display of Mi Band 5. Also, there is no physical capacitive button this time which means it is getting touch screen support. It is likely to integrate the Xiaomi’s voice assistant, Xiao AI.

3# Amazfit Verge Lite (Just Launched)

Xiaomi has just launched a cheaper version of Amazfit Verge with an improved battery life of 20 days. This version is basically similar to Amazfit Verge in terms of hardware and functionality. It is priced at just $72 and is currently in a presale in China. It boasts a circular 1.3-inch AMOLED display with 360 x 360-pixel resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

This waterproof smartwatch also has a coating on top which prevents fingerprint smudges. It has got removable silicon straps. It weighs just 46 grams which makes it very comfy for daily use and lightweight sports.

It has many functions including offline AliPay payment, real-time motion tracking, and heart-rate monitoring. It has a built-in sedentary reminder and also records nighttime sleep data and analyzes sleep quality. This device comes with 11 different sports mode and GPS + GLONASS support. It has a low-power sensor design for 20 days of battery life with normal usage but with GPS on it will last only 40 hours.

4# Amazfit 3

Amazfit 3 will be the upgraded version of the Amazfit 2 Smartwatch. This Xiaomi smartwatch will also come in the sports edition. If believed to the leaks Xiaomi is working with Huami to provide a smartwatch with less power consumption and more accurate heart rate monitoring. This smartwatch will also have an accurate heart rate alarm for abnormal heart rate.

Xiaomi has not made any notable design changes in BIP 2 and it looks pretty same like the first generation smartwatch. There is some upgrade in the hardware part and a little in the battery. A good upgrade is about water-resistance and NFC support. Below we will discuss all the specifications of Huami AMAZFIT BIP 2 and will compare it with its predecessor.

Design & Display

Huami Amazfit BIP 2 has the same square design but is on a slimmer side. It is available in bright colors and interchangeable straps which points that it is focused towards the younger generation. The body is made of polycarbonate and zirconia with 20mm silicone straps which feels light and comfortable on hands. At right side, we see a flat power button unlike the round one on the previous version.

The charging dock and heart rate sensor at the back are slightly different from BIP which means it is going to have a new charger.  Now the next good update is the water-resistance, it is IP68 certified like BIP but now it can survive up to 5ATM which means you can swim with it under 50m depth freely.

This waterproof smartwatch has the same 1.28 inch LCD display like BIP but the resolution is downgraded from 176 x 176p to 127 x 127p. However, the display is made more colorful and has 24 colors, unlike BIP which has 8 colors. But we would have expected a better display and it is a bit disappointing.

Key Functions

BIP 2 has some new sports and fitness functions from its predecessor like additional swimming mode all thanks to 5ATM water resistance. It has basic automatic motion detection for automatically counting your steps along with calorie and distance counter. The heart rate monitor of the device can be set to 24-hour monitoring via the app.

AMAZFIT BIP 2 is loaded with dual built-in GPS as well as GLONASS for accurate map positioning. It also has a triaxial acceleration sensor, PPG heart rate sensor, geomagnetic sensor, gyroscope sensor, and compass. It has Bluetooth 4.2 for connecting it to your smartphone.

Another upgrade is that BIP 2 will come with NFC support but it will be only available for China like Mi Band 3.

After connecting it to the smartphone you can receive call and message alert and can also read the message on your wrist. Calendar and social media apps alerts can also be received on it and you can also manage music on it. You can pause music or change tracks when your phone is connected to it.

Battery

The battery was one of the best selling points for AMAZFIT BIP as its 190mAh battery has a standby time of up to 40 days. There is a slight upgrade with BIP 2 as it will have a 200mAh lithium polymer battery with the same standby time.

Price & Release Date

The price of AMAZFIT BIP 2 is not known but it is expected to cost almost the same as BIP which is around $99.99.

Final Thoughts

For Chinese users, NFC is a great update which makes payments hassle-free. The display is a bit disappointing as we were expecting lesser frames and more display also the colors are upgraded but we don’t see any point in downgrading the resolution.

The display is LCD which is reflective and not a good choice under sunlight. Like AMAZFIT BIP the battery is great which is a plus point. It is a great choice for fitness enthusiasts especially youngsters who don’t wanna invest more money on high-end smartwatches.
