In its IFA 2019 press conference in Berlin Asus announced a new smartwatch, the VivoWatch SP. It is designed to track a range of vital statistics along with exercise. Unlike the VivoWatch BP the sensors are placed on the back of watch. Asus calls its ECG and PPG sensors ‘medical grade’ which are capable of tracking blood pressure and stress levels in a 20 second test.
Asus says that all this information along with heart rate data and the exercise data which is tracked by the GPS and altimeter works together under the Asus HealthAI. It gives you personalized advice and guidance according to your statistics which comes from leading health experts. It also has Pulse OX sensor for blood oxygen levels.

As this watch is designed for active people it is 5ATM water-resistant so it can be taken to swimming with a suitable band. It has a sleeker design with ceramic bezels for repelling fingerprint and smudges and comes with 22mm changeable bands. The next good thing is an impressive battery life of up to 14 days, however Asus has not thrown any light on whether it can last this long with GPS on or not. It will run on Asus’s own OS with limited smartwatch features including message and call notifications.
The price of this smartwatch is not confirmed but we will update you as soon as we get any details. The launch of VivoWatch SP is set in last quarter of 2019 which is not too far.
