Recently google posted about the new upgrade in your Wear OS-powered smartwatches. They inform you that the weather app in your Wear OS smartwatch will soon show you the UV index, telling you whether to go out or not on a hot sunny day. This upgrade feature will help you to protect your skin in the best way.

The weather app on your Wear OS watch will help you with the UV index of your locations and specific time. If the UV index is high, then you should use sunscreen on your skin before going out. It will help you plan outdoor activities so that you can take precautions to make them better. It will tell you whether you have to take precautions to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays or not.

The Ultraviolet Index is used to measure solar radiation level and is developed by World Health Organization and World Meteorological Organisation. This feature will notify you of the level of solar radiation on a scale of 0-12. Following is the meaning of the index scale concerning ultraviolet radiation.

• If the UV index is between 0-2, then the intensity of solar radiations is “Low”.
• If the UV index is above 4, you have to take precautions before going outdoors, such as wearing sunglasses and sunscreen. You have to avoid direct exposure of your skin to UV rays. It will help you to protect your skin from tanning and sunburn.
• If the UV index is above 10 on the scale, you have to avoid going out. The intensity of the radiation will damage your skin.
