The Amazfit Nexo is a brand new addition in Xiaomi sub-brand Huami’s successful Amazfit smartwatch line-up. This smartwatch was unveiled at an event in Beijing on June 11th this year and was called Amazfit Smartwatch 2. There were rumors that this is the next generation Verge and called it Verge 2. But now there are strong speculations that it will be dubbed as Amazfit Nexo for the global market.
It is an interesting device at an economical price and will be available in 3 variants, a standard black version without ECG, a top one with ECG sensor and a white-colored Limited Avengers Endgame Edition with only 5000 units for sale. Amazfit Nexo combines the design of Amazfit Pace and Stratos for a classy look and sporty function.
The ECG sensor of this device is quite accurate and e-SIM support allows it to work independently without a smartphone. Eye-Catching Design of Amazfit NEXO
Xiaomi Amazifit Nexo is a sporty device with classy looks. It has got simple and minimalist looks with a microcrystalline zirconium ceramic frame which gives it a textured feel and is extremely durable for handling daily life wear and tear. Just like previous Amazfit smartwatches, Nexo comes with activity tracking. It tracks 10 sports activities like running, walking, elliptical, mountaineering, skipping rope, football and more using in-built GPS module. It also has sleep monitoring for keeping a check on your sleep quality.
ECG Functionality
The ECG variant of Nexo comes with Huami’s custom Huangshan No. 1 always-on AI chip for real-time ECG. The chip allows more accurate heart-rate monitoring as well as real-time ECG screening for abnormalities like heart arrhythmia or atrial fibrillation with its cardiac biometrics engine. It also stores up to 60 minutes of ECG data locally for seven days.

Amazfit Nexo can also act as digital car keys for Xiaopeng P7 cars and also supports the independent use of QQ, QQ music, and other QQ applications in the future.
It comes embedded with an NB-IoT which enables you to report real-time health emergencies without Bluetooth connectivity.

The Amazfit Nexo has an excellent 420mAh battery which lasts for up to 28 hours when used with all the services like 4G, GPS, health tracking etc. and if you turn off all of this it offers 20 days standby time on a single charge. It features magnetic charging which takes 1.5 hours to fully charge the device.
Price & Availability
Amazfit Nexo has a slightly higher price tag than previous Amazfit smartwatch. Its standard version costs 999 yuan ($144) while the ECG version is priced 1299 yuan ($187). As mentioned earlier, 5000 units of Avengers Limited Edition version will also be sold with a price tag of 1499 yuan ($216).
